No! If you come to DCIS knowing more than one language, you will be a great asset to the learning community. But you may come to our school even if you only speak one language now. We offer six world languages for you to learn - Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Lakota and Spanish.

The primary criteria for selection is the applicant's level of desire to be a member of the school's learning community. This is determined through the application process, in which the applicant must demonstrate an understanding of the school's mission and must commit to participating fully in all aspects of DCIS. The application process requires a writing sample and an interview with a member of the DCIS faculty. A transcript of the applicant's grades is required, and is used to determine the applicant's preparation to take responsibility for the school's rigorous academic requirements.

 | | A DPS school bus will pick up any 6th-8th grader that lives at least 2.5 miles from DCIS and resides in the City and County of Denver. High school students that live within Denver's city limits, and at least 3.5 miles from DCIS and within the City and County of Denver, qualify for a FREE RTD pass. If there is a DPS bus that picks up a 6th-8th grader near a high schooler's house, the high schooler can ride that bus, too. | |
